Deborah Rees, who is in her 40s was born in Swansea. She has a natural Welsh accent with excellent pronunciation skills. Deborah has been an active member of Swansea Little Theatre Company for the last fourteen years, gaining a vast breadth of experience in both acting and directing. She has played both serious and comedy roles and particularly comic characterisations – for which she has received several awards and critical recognition. She has played a wide variety of roles from Nanny Ogg to Joan of Arc to Mrs Slocombe and recently appeared as Mrs Birling in An Inspector Calls. Deborah considers any role to be a new and exciting challenge and is always interested in expanding her experience with new directions. She is always able to apply herself to any given situation – e.g. learning to tap dance for Stepping Out and acquiring hairdressing skills for the part of Truvy in Steel Magnolias. Deborah has additional skills in stage make up and costume design/making - she is also a Welsh learner.
