Lucy Owen

Lucy Owen is one of the most familiar faces on Welsh television with over 20 years broadcasting experience.

Lucy presents BBC Wales’ flagship news programmes ‘Wales Today’ and the popular consumer programme ‘XRay’. She has devised and presented a number of documentaries in recent years – ‘Working Mum’, ‘My Big School Dilemma’ and ‘Middle Aged Me’. Lucy also presents on BBC Radio Wales.

Lucy has written an engaging children’s picture book ‘Boo-a-bog in the Park’ and, as an ambassador for the Noah’s Ark Charity, she is donating profits to help raise money for The Children’s Hospital for Wales. Her next book for children ‘The Sea House’ will be published this year.

Lucy is always a popular host and speaker, bringing warmth and professionalism to every event. She is also available to host alongside her husband, Rhodri Owen, well known to Welsh-speaking audiences as the main presenter of ‘Heno’ and ‘Prynhawn Da’ on S4C.

When she is not working or writing, Lucy loves nothing more than spending time with her son, Gabriel, and being with family and friends. She is a keen paddle-boarder but likes to find warm seas to enjoy it!
