After six years working for BBC 1 and BBC 2 across the UK, Sarah returned to Wales and now presents, among other programmes, BBC Radio Wales’ flagship news programme ‘Good Morning Wales’.
Live presenting is Sarah’s forte. Her quick thinking added to her high levels of energy and twenty years experience of live broadcasting, means that she is seldom fazed and is more than able to handle both high level political and economic interviews as well as making more nervous and vulnerable people feel at ease.
Sarah presented BBC 2’s ‘Working Lunch’ programme daily for six years both from the studio in London and live from workplaces and communities across the UK and Europe. Her strength was getting to the core of a story but then making it widely accessible and bringing to life even the most dry of economic data or business strategies. She was a regular presenter on BBC’s ‘Business Breakfast’ programme, contributed to ‘BBC World Business Report’ and presented a host of election programmes for both Westminster and the Welsh Assembly. |
Sarah made her name presenting ‘Wales Today’ during the 1990’s and as the BBC Industrial Correspondent for Wales. In fact Sarah was the first woman Industrial Correspondent on television in the UK.
Sarah has also presented Radio 4’s ‘Womans Hour’, the ‘Sarah Dickins Phone-In’ on Radio Wales and ‘Wales@Work’ – BBC Radio Wales’ business programme - for which she won three awards from the prestigious Work Foundation.
Sarah has also presented a wide range of series for BBC Radio Wales including ‘Rural Revolution’, ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ and ‘History Detectives’. She has also presented a wide range of documentaries in the ‘Week In Week Out’ series on BBC One Wales.
Sarah also produces television and radio documentaries as part of her production company Blue Egg Productions. Blue Egg recently won Best Radio Documentary for a programme about the Spanish Civil War at the Celtic Media Festiva.
Sarah has chaired and hosted a wide range of high profile public and private sector events, including the European Commission Summit, CBI Annual Dinner, Welsh Assembly Government Leitch Report Summit, Welsh Assembly Government Broadband launch, Elwa Skills Summit, Wales Tourist Board annual report, New Statesman Communities Justice Roundtable, Environment Agency Wales Environmental Conference , Monmouth Women’s Festival, Chwarae Teg Conferences, Ethnic Business Support Dinner, , Business in the Community Gala Dinner, Cardiff Commercial Property Forum Debate, Business in Focus Gala Dinner, Welsh Local Government Association Equality Conference, Cardiff University Innovation Conference, New Statesman Edge Social Entrepreneurship Awards, Mid Wales Export Association Euro debate and Wales Economic Research Unit’s Annual conferences.
As a host for conferences, seminars, debates and dinners Sarah pulls together all the many facets of her wide ranging career and her depth of understanding and experience. She is an excellent choice of chair as she works closely with the client to make sure that she delivers exactly the style each individual client wants for their event. Above all Sarah’s extensive live broadcasting experience and her boundless enthusiasm brings any event to life. She’s a highly articulate speaker, with great warmth and a good sense of humour to make her audience feel at ease.
When she’s not presenting programmes or events Sarah loves to be outside –working on the organic sheep farm she runs with her husband and children, or enjoying the countryside and its produce with friends and family. |
