Elin Rhys

Elin is a graduate in biochemistry and began her career as a scientist in the water industry where she worked for five years. She joined HTV Wales in 1984 as a freelance journalist on science magazine programmes. She continued with HTV for 5 years working on science, health and environment features until 1990, when she became a regular freelance presenter for the school's science department in BBC Schools in London. During her time in London she also presented a magazine series taking a serious look at adult education for the BBC, 'The Education Programme'. Returning to Wales in 1992 she presented live magazine programmes in the Welsh language for S4C and several outdoor pursuit series and documentaries for S4C and BBC Wales, before establishing her own company in Wales.

Elin has a fascinating story to tell on how she became Managing Director of Telesgop Television which she formed in 1993 after many years as a freelance presenter and producer. Since then she has been an executive producer of over 1000 hours of television from single documentaries, long running multi item magazine series, live multi-camera events and travel documentaries that have taken her company right around the world several times over the last three years, visiting 50 countries including both poles. Among recent credits have been Valley of Song for BBC4, Under the Doctor and Starstruck for BBC Wales, Kill or Cure for Animal Planet, Ar y Lein and Ffermio for S4C.

Elin now employs 28 full time core staff, and has full post production facilities. The company recently moved into new premises in Swansea's new waterfront development SA1. Elin has been a long standing member of TAC (trade association) in Wales, and was Chair between 2000 and 2004. Other interests include astronomy, surfing and playing sax.

We highly recommend Elin as a business speaker – she is one of the best.
