Rachael Flanagan wanted to leave College at 16. Rachel had no idea what she wanted to do but fate intervened when, one day, their domestic cleaner did not turn up and Rachael offered to do the cleaning for her mother. Rachel found that she enjoyed it and started cleaning for friends and neighbours. There seemed to be a good deal of interest in the service she offered so Rachel invested just £20 to have flyers printed and distributed them around the houses in her locality. The response was better than Rachael anticipated and she was inundated with enquiries so decided to rope in some carefully chosen staff to help.
Through sheer hard work and good business acumen, nine years on Rachael has a staff of 200 and has proved she has great business instincts. Rachel treats her carefully selected and well trained staff really well, paying them above the going rate. She does not ask them to do anything she is not prepared to do herself – Rachel would not wear the usual tabard herself and does not ask her staff to – she has their respect and loyalty.
Rachael Flanagan has created an impressive management team who run the day to day business now, enabling her to work 'on the business not in it'! Rachael's vibrant personality is a real asset in keeping existing clients and getting new ones.
